Haryana procures 33 lakh tonnes wheat
Chandigarh, June 3 (UNI) The six government procuring agencies have procured 33.25 lakh metric tonnes of wheat, which was 10.95 lakh metric tonnes more than the previous year .
A total of 36.87 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had arrived in the mandis so far and 90 per cent of the total arrival had been purchased by these six government procuring agencies.
While stating this here today, Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said that during the last year, total arrival of wheat was 30.20 lakh metric tonnes. He added this year the traders had purchased 3.61 lakh metric tonnes of wheat which was 10 per cent of the total arrival.
He urged the farmers to bring their wheat to the mandis as the Central Government had extended the date of procurement by a month. This extension would mean that the farmers would be eligible for Rs 100 per quintal bonus over the Rs 750 per quintal MSP.
