Governor calls for selfless social service

Shimla, Jun 3 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor V S Kokje today stressed upon the need for serving the society selflessly and working for the upliftment of the poor and needy people.

''We owe our living to the society and we are indebted to the society for better and comfortable living, he said, while speaking at the District Assembly of Rotary International District 3,090 held at Badog in Solan district last night.

Mr Kokje said the society should dedicate itself to the service of the under privileged illiterate, backward and downtrodden.

The Governor lauded the efforts of the Rotary International, saying that their services in the field of social service were inspiring to other organizations.
