General strike to protest killings

Imphal, June 3 (UNI) The Joint Action Committee, formed against the killing of three people by Kangleipak Communist Party(KCP) cadres on May 31, has called a 24-hour general strike here today to commence from 1800 hours.

Thangjam Bidhu, the co-convenor of the JAC said three persons who were working against drugs and alcohol identified as N Deben, Th Abung and L Surjit were shot dead by the KCP at Wangoi, Imphal West.

The KCP had charged that the three were extorting money in the name of the outfit.
