Bangla: Chief Advisor Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed Faints
Dhaka, June 3: Head of Bangladesh's army-backed interim government Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed today fainted while addressing a public function in Tangail town, about 100 kms from here.
Mr Ahmed (67), was delivering an extempore speech for more than an hour on his government's performance, while he fell sick at about 1140 hours on the podium and was rushed to Tangail Hospital.
He got back his sense and is out of danger, doctors at the Hospital said.
Mr Ahmed, a former central bank governor and a bureaucrat of the World Bank, assumed the office of the Chief Advisor of the interim caretaker government on January 12 under the state of emergency.
He is expected to be brought back to the capital sometime today.
