BSNL net service down for eighth day
Kohima, Jun 3: Several government offices, banks and news services in Nagaland were unable to function for the eighth day today as the internet service of the BSNL remained disrupted following damage of cables.
According to BSNL sources here, the cables in between Nagaon and Guwahati in Asom were badly damaged due to construction of roads by heavy machines.
''We are trying to restore the communication, but the damage is severe and will take time,'' official sources said.
Students and proffesionals, especially the newspapers and news agencies, were facing serious problems for communicating.
Meanwhile, many establishments in Dimapur were surrendering the BSNL net services and switching over to other private services.
The BSNL subscribers in the state have alleged that the company's net and mobile services here was worst in the country.
