A straw in the wind, it will be
Chennai, Jun 3 (UNI) He is just 14 and raring to go...for the world. G Easwarraj, son of a bus conductor, wants to take a shot at the Guinness Book of World Records by stuffing his mouth with 303 straws, breaking the previous record of 259 held by an Austrian.
To better Marco Hort who currently holds the place in the Guinness is his aim. Hailing from Vaniyambadi of Vellore District of Tamil Nadu in South India, life holds no straw in the wind for this youngster, who, though has the fire, ambition, zest and zeal to etch his name in history finds the odds going against him as he hails from a poor family.
His father's is the sole bread earner and mother a housewife.
Together with his three siblings, his family is a large one for one man to support. But life goes on and with his penchant for records, it's only turning more exciting.
Easwarraj's tryst with record books is nothing new. In 2004, he earned a place in the hallowed pages of Limca Book of World Records for a 'rare body contortion.' He also earned an award from a prominent satellite channel for 'folding' himself into a 14 x 14 inch box and remaining in the same posture for over seven mintues in 2006.
Some of his other feats include uncorking 60 bottles in a minute using his mouth, walking over glass pieces on bare feet and also on a iron fence in a similar manner.
Will the current attempt prove successful? Will his dream to enter the Guinness be fulfilled? Well, he is keeping his fingers crossed.
