Rains forecast across country

Pune, Jun 2 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Gujarat.

Severe heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, coastal Orissa and Bihar. In the regions where the Southwest Monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were markedly above normal in some parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, and appreciably above normal in Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Telangana. They were above normal in interior Orissa, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Goa, Rayalseema, some parts of Tamil Nadu and in remaining parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Day temperatures were below normal in Assam and were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Lakshadweep, at many places in Marathwada, and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Rayalseema and coastal Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka.
