PWD laws to be amended to expedite developmental projects
Ranchi, Jun 2 (UNI) Admitting that delay in implementation of developmental projects was causing loss to Jharkhand, Chief Minister Madhu Koda today said acts and laws of the Public Works Department would be amended to overcome those obstacles.
Addressing a workshop on ''quick disposal of civil works'', Mr Koda said the government would take measurable steps, including the establishment of an Engineering Academy.
Mr Koda, who also holds the charge of the Road Construction Department, said many steps would be taken for building required infrastructure in the state adding that delay in the implementation of the schemes was causing dissatisfaction among people, engineers and contractors.
Mr Koda said the detailed project report of any scheme must be flawless.
Appealing to the retired engineers to act as consultants, Mr Koda said the government was ready to sort out the problems of engineers and contractors but they should also focus on quality maintenance.
