Pre-monsoon showers bring relief to Mumbaikars

Mumbai, June 2 (UNI) Pre-monsoon showers, accompanied by light winds, lashed several parts of Mumbai and its suburbs this evening once again providing the much needed relief to the people from heat and humidity.

These are pre-monsoon showers, said a meteorological department official to UNI and added that the sky would remain cloudy with rains or thundershowers accompanied by strong dusty winds likely in the city during the next 24 hours.

Rainfall has been reported from a few places in South Konkan, Goa, South Central Maharashtra and at isolated places in North Maharashtra and Marathwada. Rains have been forecast at isolated places all over the state during the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, sale of umbrellas, rain coats and rain shoes has increased. Suburban rail services, meanwhile, remained normal.
