JK: Policeman injured in militant attack at Udhampur

Jammu, June 2: A policeman was injured when unidentified militants opened fire at Basantgarh police station in Udhampur district today, police said here.

Militants attached the police station at 0430 hrs today, sources said adding the cops on duty retaliated.

The exchange of fire between police and militants continued for 30 minutes in which one policeman, Jamil Ahmed was injured while the militants fled sources said.

Sources said security forces have rushed to the area and a search operation has been launched to nab the militants.
