NALCO receives Star Performer award

New Delhi, June 2: Leading aluminium producer and exporter, National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO) has received the Star Performer award for 2005-06, given by Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) here.

During the financial year 2005-06, the company exported 8.62 lakh tonnes of alumina and 95,747 tonnes of aluminium earning a foreign exchange of Rs 2306.20 crore.

NALCO export earnings for the fiscal 2006-07 was Rs 2585.40 crore.

The company is currently in its second phase of expansion, which will enhance its alumina capacity to 21 lakh tonnes and alunimium capacity to 4.60 lakhs, at an investment of Rs 5100 crore.
