Man gets lifer for murdering minor girl

Anand, June 2 (UNI) A Fast Track court here today sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering a minor girl in 2005.

Fast Track court Judge S I Timbaliya found Aravind G Parmar guilty of murdering Saku Parmar and awarded him the sentence.

On November 5, 2005, Aravind killed Saku at Kankapura village, 30 km from here. A day before the murder, Saku's uncle Chandubhai Parmar had caught Arvind making love to her. He slapped Arvind and abused him. Later in the evening, Saku went missing. Next day, the villagers saw Arvind carrying the body of Saku on his shoulder. When queried, he said she had consumed poison and was dead. Virsad police then registered a case of accidental death, according to prosecution.

However, the deceased's father Pratapsinh suspected a foul play.

On his complaint, a post-mortem was done, which revealed that the girl was choked to death, prosecution added.
