Kokje inaugurates Red Cross fair
Shimla, Jun 2 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor V S Kokje inaugurated the annual Red Cross Fair 2007 here today.
Speaking on the occasion, he stressed upon the need to expand the activities of the Red Cross in educational institutions and said students should be associated in its activities.
Lauding the Red Cross, Mr Kokje said it was rendering a yeoman's service towards the cause of suffering humanity.
The fair is being organised by the Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross Society Hospital Welfare Section.
A cultural function was also presented by the students of deaf and dumb school, Dhalli, Udan, New Shimla and Chotta Shimla Portmore Senior Secondary School.
The Governor also announced a sum of Rs 1,000 each per school for their participation in the programme.
