Infant killed, 18 injured in accident in Haryana

Ambala, June 2 (UNI) An infant was killed and 18 persons, including women, injured in an accident at Markanda bridge near Mullana on the Ambala-Jagadhri road, 20 km from here today, police said.

According to the police, a jeep, after colliding with a car, fell into a rivulet, killing a 9 month old child identified as Tanishak.

The other 13 occupants of the jeep, including the child's mother, were injured. They were on their way to Haridwar from Bathinda.

The remaining five who sustained injuries were seated in the car which was on its way to Panchkula from Yamunanagar. All the injured were admitted to the medical college hospital at Mullana.
