High level task force for Housing to be constituted:Kumari Selja
Mumbai, June 2 (UNI) National Urban Housing and Poverty Alleviation Ministry will costitute a high level task force on 'Affordable Housing for All'.
Addressing a two-day National Conference on 'Affordable Housing for All' here today, the Minister of State with independent charge for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Kumari Selja said that this high level task force will advice Union Government for taking necessary policy and legislative reforms.
In addition the promotion of sustainable tier II and III cities through adequate provisions of housing and related infrastructure is the need of the hour, she added.
Expressing concern over the wide gap in urban housing and infrastructure, the Minister pin-pointed that over Rs 4,00,000 crore are needed for housing alone and a large amount is needed for infrastructure also.
Kumari Selja stressed that the proposed policy recognizes key role of public, private and the co-operative sectors need to play in meeting the housing shortage.
Underlining the importance of real estate in the housing sector, she said there is a great significance of real estate in the housing development and development of the economy.
