Gulbarga records highest maximum temperature of 40.2 deg. celsius

Bangalore, June 2 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was weak over Coastal Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at a few places over Coastal Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over South Interior Karnataka and dry weather prevailed over North Interior Karnataka.

Chief rainfall amounts (cm): Karwar 2, Mulki, Kundapur 1 each.

Maximum temperatures changed little over Interior Karnataka.

They were above normal at most places being appreciably so at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and above normal at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Gulbarga recorded highest maximum temperature of 40.2 degree celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Monday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada districts and at isolated places over Belgaum, Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Shimoga districts. Mainly dry weather may prevail over remaining districts of the State.

Fishermen Warning: Strong onshore winds from westerly direction speed occasionally reaching forty five to fifty five kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during next 24 hours.

Forecast for Bangalore city: Partly cloudy. Maximum temperature would be around 34 degree celsius.
