First Flight FY07 PAT up 21 pc, mulls expansion

New Delhi, Jun 2: Integrated air express carrier, First Flight today said it has posted 20.8 per cent jump in its turnover at Rs 290 crore for the fiscal ended March 2007 in comparison to Rs 240 crore during the last fiscal.

The company plans to strengthen the aviation operations and enable country-wide reach within 24 hours. ''We propose to induct larger aircraft to service the trunk routes and will redeploy the existing ATPs to the feeder routes,'' said First Flight Couriers Ltd Deputy Managing Director R K Saboo adding that they were seriously evaluating Boeing 737s.

''The retail boom being experienced in most parts of the country, necessitates the setting up of an efficient and quick distribution network,'' added Mr Saboo.

The company is also in the process of setting up an Integrated Logistics Division to offer warehousing, inventory management, supply chain and distribution services.
