CM misplaces EPIC, finds it and casts vote
Panaji, June 2 (UNI) Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane, who misplaced his EPIC early today, exercised his franchise at Vithalpur in Mayem constituency, after finding the mandatory electoral card.
Mr Rane contested the polls from the seat for the ninth time in succession.
Before leaving for polling in the morning from his Sankhalim residence, he dicovered that he had misplaced his Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC), a mandatory polling requirement.
He later traced the card at his residence and went for voting.
The election authorities have been strict and disallowed many people from voting if they were not carrying the EPIC.
Those who have not received the EPIC, were allowed only after they showed one of the 13 other alternative documents with a photo proof of their identity.
