80% polling recorded
Imphal, June 2 (UNI) About 80 per cent polling was recorded for the Khangabok and Khundrakpam assembly constituencies today.
The elections were largely peaceful, officials said.
The fate of Mrs O Landhoni, wife of Chief Minister O Ibobi, and two candidates were sealed in the EVMS at Khangabok and also that of six candidates at Khundrakpam.
Apart from Mrs O Landhoni(Congress), Md Qutub Ali(NCP) and Kh Angou(Samajwadi Party) are in the fray in Khangabok. O Ibobi had vacated the seat as he won in two constituencies in the elections held in February last.
The six candidates for Khundrakpam A/C seat are L Lala(BJP), H Bimola(Samata Party), N Singhajit(MPP), L Premchand(CPI), Th Lokeshore(INC) and K Tomba(NCP).
