40 pilgrims escape narrowly at Tirumala
Tirumala, Jun 2 (UNI) Forty devotees had a narrow escape when a Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation(APSRTC) bus in which they were travelling hit the parapet at Tirumala Ghat Road here today.
Police said the incident ocurred when the bus driver proceeding with the pilgrims to Tirupati after the darshan of Lord Venkateswara, lost control while overtaking a private jeep.
Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam(TTD) staff and police personnel rushed to the spot and removed the bus with the help of a crane.
Traffic was disrupted for an hour, police added.
