35 per cent poll reported till afternoon
Mangalore, Jun 2 (UNI) About 35 per cent voting was reported till afternoon in the Ullal Assembly byelection here today.
According to official sources, the polling which began with dull note, picked up in the noon.
Complaints about denial of permission to vote for not bringing identity card, names missing in the voters list were reported in large number.
District Election Officer has given strict instructions not to permit vote to those who are not bringing Identity cards already issued to them. Of the total 1.69 voters the authorities have issued Identity card to about 90 per cent.
Polling was peaceful so far and police maintaining strict vigil near the booths.
