Sheopur(MP), June 1 (UNI) Violence spread in this district town today after a trader's 'Munim' (clerk) was shot at and relieved of Rs 3 lakh by some masked people.

Police lobbed tear gas shells and resorted to lathicharge to disperse the violent mob, who torched six vehicles, including three ambulances, parked at the hospital premises and attacked doctors alleging delay in providing treatment to the injured 'Munim' Prakash Chand, whose condition was out of danger.

The slogan-shouting mob also set afire the residence of Chief Medical Officer A K Dixit.

The panicked traders also downed shutters.

The assailants shot at and injured the Munim and looted Rs 3 lakh only though he was carrying about Rs 20 lakh at that time, police said.
