Tata Tea Q4 net drops 79.86%

New Delhi, June 1 (UNI) World's second-biggest packaged tea maker Tata Tea Ltd has registered 79.86 per cent dip in its net profit at Rs 3.89 crore for the quarter ended March 2007, compared to Rs 19.32 crore for the corresponding period last fiscal.

However, the company's total income stood at Rs 259.03 crore during the said period, up by 6.36 per cent from Rs 243.53 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, a statement said today.

Tata Tea's net profit for the year ended March 2007, registered 64 per cent growth at Rs 306.57 crore against Rs 186.93 crore last year.

It's total income was Rs 1,146.11 crore for the year ended March 2007 compared to Rs 1,040.01 crore for the year ended March 2006.

The Board of Directors has recommended a dividend of Rs 15 per equity share of 10 each, fully paid, in respect of the financial year 2006-07.
