Sagar Cements profit increases by 642 per cent

Hyderabad, June 1 (UNI) Sagar Cements Limited earned an income of Rs 112.82 crore in 2006-07 as against Rs 76.22 crore in the previous year, recording a growth rate of 48 per cent.

According to a press release here today, the profit after tax for the year 2006-07 increased to Rs 30.02 crore on a consolidated basis as against Rs 4.05 crore in the previous year, representing a growth of 642 per cent.

The Earning Per Share (EPS) had improved to Rs 26.61 per share as against Rs 3.63 per share in the previous year, representing a growth rate of 633 per cent. The company paid a dividend of 25 per cent on the equity shares of the company for the year 2006-07.

The cement company was currently implementing an expansion of its capacity at its Plant in Nalgonda district to increase its capacity from the current level of 0.65 million tonnes to 2.5 million tonnes at a cost of Rs 296 crore, the release added.
