Rs 5.40 Cr released for improving traffic system in six cities
Bangalore, June 1 (UNI) Karnataka Minister for Home M P Prakash today said the State government has sanctioned Rs 5.40 crore for improving the traffic system in Mysore, Hubli-Dharwad, Belgaum, Gulbarga, Bellary and Mangalore.
Talking to newsmen here, he said that the government has also sanctioned Rs four crore for upgrading the Home Guards Department besides providing own buildings for Fire Brigade department in eight places across the State.
He said that it was proposed to construct a new building for the City Police Commissionerate at a cost of Rs 18.15 crore.
The department had constructed 3334 quarters for police staff in 271 places as part of its plan to construct 5000 quarters at a cost of Rs 180 crore, he added.
