Rs 12 crore road proj plan for Samba submitted to Centre

Jammu, June 1: Jammu and Kashmir government has submitted an ambitious plan of nine road projects, involving an amount of Rs 12.22 crore, to the Centre for upgradation in the newly created Samba district of this region.

Disclosing this at a meeting yesterday, Samba District Development Commissioner B S Jamwal said the step is aimed at promoting the communication facilities in the area dominated by industrial estates.

Under health sector, he said, Rs 2 crore are proposed to be spent on infrastructural development of existing health institutions in Samba district.

Sub-district hospital Samba, Mr Jamwal disclosed, it is being equipped with an additional block at the cost of Rs 2.56 crore, of which Rs 1.4 crore have been expended so far.

''An amount of Rs 3.05 crore is also being incurred on infrastructural development of CHC Ramgarh,'' he added.
