Raje appeals for peace, communal harmony
Jaipur, June 1 (UNI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has appealed to all sections of society to maintain peace and communal harmony in the state.
In a special appeal, Mrs Raje sought cooperation from all sections and castes and urged them not to indulge in violence and spreading rumours.
She stressed on the need to maintain communal harmony in the state, saying protests and demonstrations are part of democracy but uncontrolled, violent protests which disrupt normal life can not be allowed.
Regretting the loss of many lives in the Gujjar agitation, the Chief Minister said Rajasthan has been known for its chivalrous fighters, who sacrificed themselves for their land and therefore it was sad that people were fighting among themselves.
