New York Life International chief joins USIBC Board

Washington, June 1 (UNI) The US-India Business Council (USIBC) has announced the appointment of Joseph Gilmour, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of New York Life International, LLC, the international arm of New York Life Insurance Company, to its Board of Directors.

The USIBC is the premier business advocacy organisation representing 250 of the largest US companies investing in India, joined by two dozen of India's largest global companies. Its mandate is to strengthen US-India commercial ties.

New York Life is a Chairman's Circle member of the USIBC, the highest level of membership. The company is very active in Council activities and chairs its Insurance and Pension Committee.

It is also a strong and vocal supporter of business and strategic ties between the US and India and works extensively to strengthen relations between the two countries.

''Mr Gilmour, a seasoned international executive with a great deal of expertise in India and the Asia-Pacific region, is an important addition to the USIBC Board,'' said Council Chairman Charles Kaye.

''He brings a solid track record of global business experience as head of New York Life International, one of the largest foreign insurers in India,'' he said.
