Mob attacks Zilla Panchayat member's house

Mysore, June 1 (UNI) Tension prevailed at Handahalli village near here following an attack on Zilla Panchayat member's house by a mob last night. Four persons were arrested in this connection, police said today.

They said about 20 members of a political party barged into the house of Gowramma Somashekar and ransacked the house and escaped with Rs 50,000 cash.

The mob also took away a gold necklace and few bangles after breaking open an almirah and pelted stones on the house of her relatives in the village.

The reason for the attack was said to be a row over decorating posters of village leaders.
