Mann's judicial custody extended till June 14
Jalandhar, June 1 (UNI) A local court today extended the judicial custody of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjeet Singh Mann, Shiromani Akali Dal (Jaffarwal) president Wasan Singh Jaffarwal and 18 others till June 14.
Judicial Magistrate Amarish Kumar Jain while hearing the arguments, presented by public prosecutor and Mann himself, extended the judicial custody of all the 20 accused including Mann, booked on sedition charges, for another 14 days.
Meanwhile, supporters of SAD (Amritsar) led by its senior vice president Daljeet Singh Bitto raised slogans against Prakash Singh Badal government outside the court premises.
Mann, Jaffarwal and their 18 other supporters were booked under section 124-A of the IPC, related to sedition on May 18. The police had earlier booked Mann and others under sections 107 and 151 of CrPC on May 14 for putting placards with photos of Dilawar Singh on the statue of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh. Dilawar Singh was involved in the assassination of the former Chief Minister.
