Hooda looks into Yamuna Revitalisation Project
Chandigarh, June 1 (UNI) The Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation made a presentation of Yamuna Revitalisation Project before Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today.
Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) CMD Sanat Kaul told Mr Hooda in New Delhi that the project would help in addressing the problem of water shortage in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh and enhance the tourism potential for Delhi and Haryana.
He said that under the project, mega reservoirs would be built on the Yamuna and the Hindon rivers and by using the monsoon flows water storage would be increased.
Mr Hooda appreciated the project and asked the CMD of DTTDC to examine the feasibility of the project for its implementation in Haryana.
Haryana Irrigation Minister Ajay Singh Yadav, Principal Secretary to Haryana Chief Minister M L Tayal, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Irrigation R N Prasher, Resident Commissioner P K Mahaptra and senior officers of the Irrigation Department of Haryana also attended the meeting.
