Heavy rains forecast in Lakshadweep

Pune, June 1 (UNI) Heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

Heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in Vidarbha. In the regions where the Southwest Monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, and in some parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, north Madhya Maharashtra, Chattisgarh and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Day temperatures were above normal in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, and in remaining parts of Vidarbha. They were below normal in some parts of Punjab, and were normal over the rest of the country.

Heavy rains have occurred at most places in Lakshadweep and at many places in Arunachal Pradesh.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Saurashtra, Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.
