Gujjar violence: 24 trains cancelled today

New Delhi, Jun 1 (UNI) In view of continuing Gujjar violence in Rajasthan, the Northern Railway has cancelled three trains including Jaipur-Jammu Tawi Pooja Express and Ajmer Shatabdi Express tomorrow.

The Bareilly-Bhuj express will also remain cancelled tomorrow.

A total of 24 trains, including the Ahmedabad Rajdhani Express, Ajmer Shatabdi Express and the Mewar Express were cancelled today and diverted ten others in the interest of passenger safety.

Several other trains like Rajasthan Sampark kranti, Paschim Express and Intercity Express from Indore to Nizamudin, were running late more than six hours.

Among the trains that were cancelled were Jaisalmer Express, Jaipur-Jammu Tawi Pooja Express, Dehradun Express and Golden Temple Mail.

Those diverted include 2308 Jodhpur-Howrah Express to run via Bhatinda and Delhi, 9024 Firozepur-Mumbai Janata Express and 2904 Amritsar-Mumbai Golden Temple Express, both via Mathura, Agra and Bhopal, 2395 Ibadat Express from Patna via Agra, New Delhi, Bhatinda and 2472 Swaraj Express, from Jammu to Bandra.
