Four militants shot dead by troops in Manipur

Imphal, June 1 (UNI) Four militants were shot dead in two separate incidents by troops last midnight.

Assam Rifles officials said troops of the Assam Rifles shot dead three cadres of Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) at Ukhrul district, Manipur. Two AK 56 rifles and some ammunition were recovered from them. After a brief encounter they were shot dead by the troops.

In another incident last midnight a suspected militant was shot dead at Lilong, Thoubal district by personnel of 32 Assam Rifles, AR officials said.

One AK 46 rifle and some ammunition were recovered. The deceased was identified as Md Akir.
