Foreign reserves at USD 204.934

Mumbai, June 1 (UNI) The Country's foreign reserves rose by nearly USD 1 billion over the past week to USD 204.934 billion from USD 203.982 billion, the central bank's weekly statistical report said today.

The foreign currency assets have risen to USD 197.4 billion as compared to USD 196.4 billion last week, while gold reserves remained unchanged at 7.036 billion, said the report.

Country's reserve position in the international monetary fund (IMF) went down over the period, which is at USD 459 million now.

The aggregate deposits of scheduled commercial banks in India is unchanged at Rs 26,03994 crore.

The foreign currency assets expressed in US dollar terms includes the effect of appreciation or depreciation of major world currencies, said RBI.

The foreign exchange reserves include India's reserve tranche position in the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
