Cornered ULFA hits back
Guwahati, June 1 (UNI) A cornered ULFA, desperate to come out of unprecedented anger towards them from all quarter, have started hitting back abusing media, sending two statements in two days to those who are opposing them.
Both the e-mailed statements came down heavily on veteran journalist D N Chakravarty who had been at the forefront in the anti- ULFA public demonstration.
The first statement was issued by ULFA Commander-In-Chief Paresh Barua and the second statement,issued today, was signed by ULFA Chairman Aurobindo Rajkhowa. The content of both of these abusive statements were same describing those leading the protests against the ULFA as ''agents of India''.
''As the ULFA has been pushed to the wall by the common people with growing number of protests coming up from every corner of the state, their leaders are getting nervous and hence they are making such statements,'' said Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
The ground level protests have been growing every day and emboldened by the growing numbers, an unprecedented number of people have come out on the streets, police source said adding these statements were basically aimed at improving the morale of their cadres, who are at the receiving end of the public anger.
