New Delhi, June 1 (UNI) The Centre today rushed more para-military forces to restore law and order in Rajasthan where violence spread to more places as part of the agitation by the Gujjar community demanding Scheduled Tribe status.

"We have provided more men from the central forces as per our assessment about the requirement to tackle the situation and prevent violence spreading to more places," Home Ministry sources said here today.

The Centre had sent more forces to Rajasthan immediately after violence broke out during a demonstration by the Gujjar community early this week.

Sources said the central forces would be used mainly to stage flag marches to reinforce more confidence among the people.

Meanwhile, advisories have been issued to neighbouring states of Delhi and Haryana to step up vigilance and deployment of forces in sensitive areas with sizeable Gujjar population.
