Block education officer in vigilance net

Purnea, June 1: Sleuths of state vigilance bureau today arrested block education officer of Amour, Amod Kumar Jha while accepting Rs 5000 as bribe from a school teacher here.

Deputy police superintendent of state vigilance bureau Ram Naresh Singh said that the trap was laid following a complaint lodged by a school teacher Shiv Nandan Jaiswal about the alleged demand of Rs 5000 from him by Mr Jha for staying his transfer.

'Mr Jha was caught red handed while he was accepting Rs 5000 at his residence from Mr Jaiswal,'' Mr Singh said adding the officer was was being sent to vigilance headquarter at Patna for intensive interrogation.
