AEC celebrates its Diamond Jubilee
Chandigarh, June 1 (UNI) The Army Educational Corps (AEC) celebrated the Diamond Jubilee (60th anniversary) of its raising at Western Command Head Quarters at Chandimandir today.
Maj Gen P C Kharbanda, MGGS, Western Command joined the celebrations being held in the Command. Get-togethers of senior serving and retired officers, JCO's, Jawans of the Corps were also organised to commemorate the occasion.
In his message on the occasion, Lt Gen Daljeet Singh, GOC-in-C, Western Command, conveyed his ''heartiest felicitations and best wishes'' to all ranks, civilians of the Corps and their families.
He lauded the contribution being made by the Corps in providing education to the men in uniform and moulding the human resources of the army into a professionally competent force capable of winning future wars.
The General appreciated the dedicated efforts of the AEC in the field of information technology, map craft, English, foreign languages, Rashtriya Bhasha and military music besides imparting quality education to army personnel by enhancing their civil qualification through IGNOU Army Educational Project (IAEP).
