UP govt directions to clear backlog quota incruitment

Lucknow, May 31 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government has directed all the secretaries, heads of the departments (HODs) and Divisional Commissioners to launch a special drive for clearing the backlog of the posts of the SC/ST and OBC quota of group 'D' of the government services though direct recruitment within the next six months.

According to the government order (GO), issued by the secretary appointment and personnel Mr J S Deepak, clearing the backlog of the reserve categories was a legal binding for the government.

The restrictions imposed on the recruitment of Group 'D' on December 12, 2006 has been relaxed.

The order further mentioned, the backlog of the SC/ST, OBC quota in direct recruitment of Group 'A' 'B' and 'C' categories had to be cleared and the vacancies of the SC/ST in the promotion quota would also be fulfilled. The detailed guidelines of which had already been issued on May 22, 2007.

The Divisional Commissioners would review the progress of recruitment of the posts where the division-level officers were the appointing authority and forward their monthly report to the departmental secretary, chief secretary and the CM's secretariate.

The HODs, office heads would review the progress of their sub-ordinates and send the report to the departmental secretary every month. The departmental secretaries would review the progress of recruitment of the departmental posts and send their report to the chief secretary, who would review it every month.
