Taliban ambush kills 16 Afghan police -government
KABUL, May 31 (Reuters) Taliban guerrillas ambushed a convoy of police today in Afghanistan's southern province of Zabul and killed 16 soldiers, an interior ministry spokesman said, the deadliest such attack against the police recently.
The Afghan government sent additional security forces to help, and the Taliban fighters managed to flee from the scene, Zemaria Bashary said.
