Sringeri records 6 cm rain

Bangalore, May 31 (UNI) Following is a Summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours here today.

Rainfall occurred at many places over Coastal Karnataka; at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka.

Chief rainfall amounts (cm): Sringeri 6; Manki, Kaladgi, Linganamakki, Humchadakatte, Hassan 3 each; Shirali, Honavar, Karwar, Chamarajnagara 2 each; Bhatkal, Banavasi, Kundapur, Kota, Dharwad, Tyagarthi, Kottigehara, Sakleshpura, Alur, C.R.Patna, Bangalore Airport 1 each.

Maximum temperatures appreciably rose at many places over North Interior Karnataka and changed little over South Interior Karnataka.

They were below normal at many places over South Interior Karnataka and were normal over North Interior Karnataka. Gulbarga recorded highest maximum temperature of 38.4 degree Celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Saturday morning:Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin:Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at many places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka.

Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Fishermen Warning for Karnataka Coast: Strong onshore winds from westerly direction speed occasionally reaching forty five to fifty five kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during next 24 hours.

Local forecast: Partly cloudy. A spell of rain likely towards evening/night. Maximum temperature would be around 31 degree celsius.
