SP MP sent to jail in assault case
Jaunpur, May 31 (UNI) Samajwadi Party MP Ramakant Yadav was today sent to jail under 14 days judicial custody, after a court rejected his bail application in an assault case.
An FIR was lodged against Yadav and three others in a case of assault and issuing life threats during the Shahganj Cooperative Sugarcane Committee poll in 2000.

Later, his counsel prayed before the district and sessions judge Subhash Chandra Agarwal for a hearing in this case. However, the judge posted the matter for tomorrow.
