Sona Group starts Rs 20cr manufacturing plant
New Delhi, May 31 (UNI) Sona Okegawa Precisions Forgings Ltd (SOPFL), manufacturer and supplier of forging gears, today said it will set up a Rs 20 crore manufacturing plant in Haryana with Mitsubishi Materials Corporation Ltd.
The Sona Group company's new facility at Khurampur Khera near Farukhnagar, Haryana, is its third plant. It already has two plants -- one each in Gurgaon and Pune.
''The plant is an integral part of the expansion plan. With the demand and the export graph showing an upward trend, this manufacturing facility will only further leverage to our standing in the market,'' group Chairman and Managing Director Surinder Kapur said.
SOPFL is a joint venture between Sona Group and Japan-based Mitsubishi Materials Corporation.
''The industry is very competitive and highly demanding. We hope this facility will meet the demands of the industry which is growing at a very rapid pace,'' said Mitsubishi Materials Corporation Executive Officer Noboru Yonezawa.
The product range of SOPFL includes differential gears, synchroniser rings and case differential assemblies. The new manufacturing facility is a tool and die shop.
