Six held guilty in murder case, one gets life term

Bathinda, May 31 (UNI) A local court today awarded life sentence to one of the accused and ten years to five others in a murder case.

The court of the Additional Session Judget sentenced the main accused Narinder Pal Singh to life imprisonment besides imposing a fine of Rs 5,000. The other accused Shamsher Singh, Harjinder Singh, Jaspal Singh, Rajinder Singh and Lakhwant Singh were given a sentence of 10 years each.

Three others were acquitted due to lack of evidence against them.

The case pertains to the murder of Gobind Singh of local Government Rajindra College in December 1999 during a clash between two groups of students.
