Rupee trades stronger at 40.73/74 per dollar

Mumbai, May 31: Rupee today traded stronger at 40.73/74 per dollar in the early morning session as compared to the previous close of 40.86/88 as investor expectations hovered around further capital inflows that is expected to flow in to the local market.

The local unit had touched a fresh intra-day nine-year peak of 40.28 on last Monday.

According to traders, local currency is still stronger and is likely to continue as the strongst Asian currency throughout the month owing to month-end dollar demand by oil-companies.
