Prasar Bharati employees welcome new Transfer Policy

New Delhi, May 31 (UNI) The Programme Staff Welfare Association of All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan today thanked Information and Broadcasting Minister P R Dasmunsi for streamlining the Prasar Bharati in the matter of transfers and promotions.

In a letter to the Minister, a copy of which was also sent to UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the Association commended the role of Prasar Bharati CEO B S Lalli in bringing about reforms and streamlining the department.

Demanding that the new Transfer Policy should be uniformly implemented, the Association President Pramod Mehta said apart from news readers, announcers, instrumentalists, editors cameramen and translators, it should be applicable to the remaining few PEXs of AIR and DD who have been inadvertently left out in the recent transfer orders.

''It had been a long standing demand of the Association to bring about a uniform Transfer Policy, based on transparency and fair play,'' said Mr Mehta.
