Chennai: Piaggio rolls out Ape TRUK

Chennai, May 31: Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Piaggio and C Spa of Italy, today rolled out its 'Ape TRUK' in the sub one-tonne four wheeler category.

The state-of-the-art vehicle, priced between Rs 2.15 lakh and Rs 2.20 lakh with Italian styling and contemporary design featured car-like interiors, excellent stability, highest payload, three-side openable panels, highest ground clearance, all-terrain capability and outstanding fuel efficiency.

While talking to the reporters during the launching session, company's Chairman and MD M Ravi Chopra said "with the increasing emphasis on heavy multi-axle commercial vehicles for inter-city transportation, the focus had shifted to smaller cargo vehicles like 'Ape' three-wheeler and 'Ape TRUK' for efficient intra-city movement of essential goods".

The new vehicle owuld have a one-year warranty and eight free services. The product was engineered to maximise the customers earning capability while providing unparalleled economy in terms of fuel efficiency and running costs.

He said "starting in select cities of the South, the new product will be launched across the country over the next few months".
