Mankotia announces movement against corruption

Dharamshala, May 31 (UNI) Senior Congress legislator and former Himachal Pradesh tourism minister Vijai Singh Mankotia today announced the launching of ''dharam yudh'' to provide a clean and a transparent administration.

Addressing mediapersons here, the yudh with the help of common people would help in exposing the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats and provide a clean administration to the people of the state.

Unperturbed over his suspension from the party, Mr Mankotia said Himachal was looking for a person who could take up initiative and help in rooting out corruption.

''I am determined to do this job with the help of my supporters,'' he said.

He revealed that he had in the past two days received several anonymous calls at his residence, threatening him of dire consequences if he continued to come would with more CDs, exposing the Chief Minister.

Replying to a question whether would lodge a complaint with the police, he said that he was a soldier and would fight the battle fearlessly till his last breath.

''No body can terrorize me with such acts,'' he said.

Mr Mankotia said there was a lot of pressure on him from many senior leaders of the party to stop his campaign as this would harm the party.

''However, I had refused to abide by such advice and instead had demanded immediate removal of Mr Singh both from the party as well as from the post of the Chief Minister,'' he said.

Admitting that he wanted to be the state's Chief Minister, he said that would only be possible after Mr Singh's removal from the party and his chief ministership.

''I am ready for a compromise, but nothing less than the post of the chief minister will be acceptable to me,'' he said.

Claiming that he had many more CD's and documentary evidences against the chief minister, his wife and many ministers to prove that they were indulged in many illegal activities, he said he would expose all of them one by one.
