JPDA to stop lifting of petroluem products from tomorrow

Ranchi, May 31 (UNI) The Jharkhand Petroleum Dealers Association (JPDA) today decided to stop lifting of petroleum across the state from tomorrow in support of its five-point demands including reduction of sales tax on petroleum products.

JPDA general secretary Sharat Dudani said more than 600 petrol pump owners will not lift petrouleum products from depots in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Ramgarh and Dhanbad from tomorrow.

Mr Dudani said despite intimitating the state government about the demands including reduction of sales tax from 20 to 12 per cent, payment of dues with the government and exemption of VAT, the authorities were yet to take any decision in this regard.

He further said petrol would be supplied till the present stocks exhausted.

Meanwhile, deputy Chief Minister Stephen Marandi has convened a meeting tomorrow with JPDA members to discuss the matter.
